The Adam C. Conboy Memorial Fund requests the pleasure of your company at Operation Bedding's 2nd Annual Beef & Beer Fundraiser. Please join us in supporting our troops April 11th.
Friday, April 11th from 7pm to 11pm
F.O.P. Hall
1330 Spring Garden St.
Philadelphia, PA
Dinner - Dancing - Door Prizes
Tickets are $25
Purchase your tickets calling The Adam Conboy Memorial Fund at (610) 564-1787 or http://www.adamc..../newsEvents.html
Lance Corporal Adam C. Conboy was killed in Iraq on May 12, 2006. He last spoke with his mother only a few days before he died, and told her that he needed some sheets. He jokingly said to her, "C'mon Mom, let's get Operation Bedding started." He unknowingly started his own memorial fund. His mother, Mary Conboy, started a memorial fund in Adam's name that collects money, sheets, chapstick, snacks, drinks, mixes... and the list goes on! Mary then makes separate packages for the Marines and has them sent over to the guys in Iraq.
Please take a moment of your time to check out Adam's site -http://www.adamconboymemorialfund.org - and see if you can make a donation. The site will better explain to you how much Mary is doing for our troops and what an impression Adam has made on people's lives.

Dear all soldiers,
I believe that every one of you are amazingly brave and strong to fight and protect our freedom. Though I want you all out of the middle states. With loads of respect,
Chris.

To the troops - thank you. Your hard work, dedication and sacrifice are appreciated. We are fortunate to have men and women like you fighting for us.

I think I actually went to high school with him. It's a shame to know someone only a little younger than you, and having to read about them dying in the newspaper, especially in that kind of a situation.

You guys are the best, hang in there and keep your heads down, and come home safe to your Fathers, Mothers, brothers, sisters, wifes, and children. Remember, be careful and come home to a nation who is proud of the very hard job you do everyday.

My fiancee' was also killed in Iraq on April 28th of 2006... his mom started a scholarship in his name to help the soldiers pay for basic necessities that are not provided. It is a shame that these men and women have to pay for some of the things that they do... God Bless our troops...

Happy Thanksgiving - Let's Say Thanks!

November 20, 2007 07:22 AM

This is a nice thing to do and it only takes a few seconds

Something cool that Xerox is doing

If you go to this web site - www.LetsSayThanks.com - you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services.

How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! This is a great site. Please send a card. It is FREE and it only takes a second.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our guys and gals over there need to know we are behind them.

I'd like to say Thank You to our finest generation of military men and women for bravely serving our country during these dangerous times. Your sacrifice is greatly appreciated.

I'd also like to take a moment to recognize my son, Cpl. Nicholas Campanile, and his two life long friends, L.Cpl. Anthony Ambrosine and L.Cpl. Brian Johnson. These three young men grew up together in the Highland Park section of Upper Darby, went all through school together and played sports together. All three joined the Marines right out of high school in 2004, and are now serving their country together. All three have just returned from a tour of duty in Iraq (Nick and Anthony's 2nd, Brian's 1st), and were met by three very, very thankful families. We recognize how lucky we are that our boys came home to us safely, and not a day goes by that we don't grieve for the families that have not been as lucky. With all due respect, Preston and Steve - THOSE GUYS ROCK!!!

Hello All Listeners of WMMR:
This came across my PC Screen on Fri. 12/14/07
There isn't much time to act, however if you can be of assistance; call the number at the end of this note.
Merry Christmas.

John,

Please pass this along to our brothers. I am the originator of this document. I know we have vet's and those in Law enforcement who might be able to help out.

The guys from work and I did the usual once a week lunch at the Coastline Restaurant today.

On the way out, I mentioned to (the owner) Chris that MaryCate got into the Navel Academy.

I have know Chris since December 1985 when I worked for him as I was working my way thru College.

I figured he would get a kick out of it because his son, Nick, is in the Green Berets.

After congratulating me on MaryCate, he told me a “real heart tugger” of a story.

His wife, Dawn, started a non profit foundation for the families of troops whose soldier is stationed over seas.

She got in touch with the commander of Fort Dix and asked him if there was anything that they needed for Christmas.

The next day the commander called Chris and told him about a problem that they have coming up.

They have 1,000 soldiers who are coming back from Iraq on December 21.

(The exact flight times will be confirmed this Friday, December 14th.)

They have been away from their friends and family for two years.

Think about all that has happened in the last two years… and YOU missed it.

The government, for whatever reason, has no way in getting these 1,000 troops from Fort Dix to the Philly airport.

(Never mind that they are burning thru a million dollars an hour over in Iraq.)

Chris has started to organize buses.

He figures about 50 buses are required.

He will be bringing it up this Friday on the radio station that plays for a few hours in the bar section of his restaurant.

He is looking for donations of time and or money.

If he gets enough money to pay for the buses, he would like to divide up any extra cash money left over and give it to each of the soldiers as a Christmas bonus, a welcome home present etc.

Thru his connections with law enforcement, he has arranged for police escorts for the buses thru various towns.

He would also like to have people line the routes in these areas.

I think that in helping out with this, it would show the true spirit of Christmas and of giving to others who have done so much for us.

To help out, Chris at the Coastline can be reached at 1-856-795-1776.

To all of our troops out there - I sincerely thank you for your service. With the crazy deployment rotations, you continually pull through and sacrifice your home lives, your social lives, your every day remembrance of normalcy. Thank you for standing by your brothers and sisters. As the wife of a OIF Veteran, I deeply appreciate all you do.

Also, to the families with loved ones serving in the armed services, thank you too. We hold it all together on the homefront, pay the bills, wipe the tears, and push through the deployment after deployment in silent service to our country.

May you all be blessed this holiday season and be reunited with your loved ones soon. Stay safe.

I would like to wish everyone a Merry X-mas and a happy new year. Even though i may have to spend my X-mas in a foreign country or my birthday out to sea i know that when i hit my rack and the end of my shift i have my ipod charged up ready to hear the voices of Preston, Steve, Casey, Nick, Kathy, and the rest of the crew in my mind i feel at home. Thank You for what you do you affect the lives of people more than you know. A warm greeting from me and all your new listeners on the USS Harry S. Truman

Though it’s late I would also to wish Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2008.

http://rightdesired.blogspot.com/2007/12/christmas-e-cards.html

Now sending New Year wishes is just a matter of seconds by a few mouse clicks. Internet users are increasing with every second so much so that now it is difficult to find people who don’t use the Internet. New Year wishes can be sent online in many forms such as e-cards, e-greetings, poems, emails, etc.

This is a great one to pass along!!

Now until this catches on I am sure people who have not seen this will look at you weird! But do it anyway!
It's a simple way to say thank you to the troops when you see them out and about.
My husband is in the Air Force and will be deploying in 15 days for 2 months. Between this deployment and all the other trips he goes on, he is gone 4 to 6 months out of the year. I miss him so much when he is gone and I don't think it's fair that we have to be apart but I'm very proud of him for going.
Lets try and get this going for them! It's a way to say thank you without saying anything.

I cannot express my gratitude for what everyone one of you goes through on a daily basis in the thick of it. You will always have at least one citizen giving support for what you do to keep us safe. I'd like to acknowledge what you are doing and to introduce you to another possibility that people who read this post might choose to support Operation First Response.

I've been personally donating my retail profits to OFR for over two years now with my business. Peggy Baker and her supporters have been my top priority and so far the dedicated website has generated over $1500.00 in profits that have been donated.

We are always looking for ways to get the word out and it would be great if your readers would support our program and pass the word on to their friends and family.

To read how it works I invite you to visit www.buyforthetroops.com or if someone just wants to go to their buying site they can go to www.shaklee.net/operationfirstresponse

With MY most sincerest of gratitudes, respect and compassion to you all ~ Thank You!

I know the phrase "Thank You" is very over-used and so very shallow to so many, but to many others, it is so very appreciated and heart-felt, as it is with me & my son!

Just a note that my 8th Annual Block Party will be on 07~07~07 this year...coincidental that it is the same date as Operation America Rising!

So, please be MOST ASSURED, that your fellow American supporters, those of us who live at or in the court of 111-141 Kerry Lynn Court, Williamstown, NJ 08094 {I'm at 139} will be in total support, and mention WILL be made to all in attendance {by me}, which is usually anywhere from 100 ~ 500 people, since I usually get the mic to say a quick thanks to all for attending the Block Party, I will be positively sure that they will not only get my Thanks for their attendance, but also get a lil reminder about Operation America Rising, as well as a reminder to thank those who ARE serving, those who HAVE served and those who WILL BE serving for OUR FREEDOM!

May GOD Bless you ALL ~ God speed for a lively return to all of your families and if the Ultimate Sacrifice is Given, a respectful, heart-felt Thank you for your Ultimate Sacrifice so that my son and I may live in a nation, which we are {hopefully} guarenteed to be protected and which is always guarded and our safety is your primary focus...by you all.

Again, God BLESS you all and you families and may you ALL return to your families very soon! You have all made the ultimate sacrifice and for that I can be nothing but ever grateful! With the most compassionate, respectful and heart-felt gratitude I can ever posess or extend, Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Ciao!

A huge thank you to all our servicemen & servicewomen, nurses, doctors, etc who are serving our country (and others by their presence) and do so willingly. Words cannot express the true gratefulness of most of your countrymen/women. I keep you in my prayers always...and at times when I complain about the little things, I am constantly reminded that there are family and friends who are missing you all terribly. Thank you and God Bless!
